What's this all about?

We wanted to find a way to bring our friends together on weekday nights without the hassle or time commitment of sports leagues. What else are you gonna do between Tahoe weekends?

Here's how it works:

1) assemble a team of 6 people or more
2) show up on a scheduled Thursday (you don't have to come every Thursday) to compete
3) at the end of the season, compete in the tournament to be declared "Flipcup Champion of San Francisco"

Registration:

Your team only need to register once in the entire season. Teams can also enter at any time during the season. You will accumulate points on Thursday nights to be seeded in the End of Season Tourney. So, it's in your best interest to show up often with your team to get more points to be the higher seed in the tourney and to PRACTICE your skills!

Team Requirements

Team Requirements

Each team can consist of anywhere from 6 to 10 participants (allowing for up to 4 reserves per game).

A maximum of 6 contestants will be “on the field” during each game.

Each team will elect a team captain who is responsible for coordinating each team and will be in charge of handling team fees for each competition.

We encourage teams to be comprised of approximately half female, half male to promote healthy competition.

Remember: your team supplies the beer with the $10 pitchers at the bar. Overall best 3 out of 5 losing team has to buy the winning team a pitcher.

Scoring

Scoring Structure

After all the registered teams and captains have checked in for the week, head-to-head matchups will be determined by the captains.

You will play anywhere from 3 to 5 matchups per night.

Each “round” will be decided by the first team to flip their last cup.

The team winner for each matchup will be decided by the best 3 out of 5 rounds.

The winning team for each matchup will be awarded 2 points (that will go toward the team’s season total).

One bonus point will be awarded to any team that completes a clean sweep by winning the first 3 rounds of a particular matchup.
